What to Wear in 90 Degree Weather?

by JiangAshley 01 Jul 2025 0 Comments

After a long period of cold, the city has come to heat, during when the temperature promises to rise above 30 degrees. Every summer we wait not only for the sun and vacations, but also for new fashion inspirations. What to wear to look relevant, but at the same time not to feel like a catwalk decoration? Our guide will certainly help you decide on an outfit: we have selected fashionable and practical items for a hot weekend in the city.

Choose Good Fabrics for Hot Weather

Summer fabrics should have some basic properties: lightness, breathability and skin-friendly. Such qualities are inherent in natural or mixed materials. However, it should be remembered that summer can be different: for one region, chintz and linen are suitable, which perfectly allow air to pass through and cool the skin in the heat; for another, cooler and with changeable weather, things made of thin wool will come in handy, which are equally good at +22 and +15 degrees.

1.Linen

Natural unbleached linen is a great choice for hot weather. Despite delicate care, dresses and trousers made of this fabric remain the best solution for summer. Linen is breathable and removes excess moisture, this material is able to “cool” the skin. The absence of dyes will be appreciated by people with sensitive skin types who are prone to allergic reactions. Dyed linen is also often used: it does not fade in the sun, and retains the brightness of the color for a long time.

2.Cotton

Summer items made of cotton fabric are in any wardrobe. Dresses, blouses, T-shirts, trousers, shorts, capes, hats, bags, accessories, you can see anything from cotton.

Cotton comes in different densities: the higher the density, the easier it is to care for. Dense material can be machine washed, wrung out and dried in the sun. This is relevant for summer clothes that need to be refreshed every day.

3.Silk

Natural and artificial silk are an excellent choice for summer clothing. The soft fabric drapes well, holds its shape and fits the figure. Just like linen, silk can cool the skin, which is important in hot weather. On a cool summer evening, a silk suit will retain body heat, preventing hypothermia.

4.Synthetic fabrics for summer

Among the synthetic fabrics for summer, lyocell and modal stand out. These materials are not often found in collections, but they are worth attention.

Lyocell is a fabric made from cellulose. The way the threads are woven and processed makes it look like silk and cotton at the same time.

Summer clothes made of such fabric are very durable.

They can be easily washed in a machine and dried in any way. According to customer reviews, the material can withstand up to 600 washes without losing its original appearance. In addition, lyocell does not wrinkle, which greatly simplifies the care of products. It also has good air permeability and antibacterial properties. Due to this, it can be used for sewing children's clothing.

Modal is also made from cellulose fibers and is a viscose fabric. Like lyocell, it is durable and breathable, but does not have antibacterial properties and can cause allergies. Modal items require delicate care. They are best washed by hand and hung to dry.

Linen Dresses

Linen is always the best choice for hot weather. Not only does it breathe and wick away moisture, but it also looks noble and “expensive.” So, in a sundress made of this natural material, you definitely won’t risk looking like you’re going to the beach. Choose the most basic model and style it depending on the occasion. For the office, combine the dress with sandals, for a long walk – with your favorite Birkenstocks, and for a restaurant – with heeled mules.

Boxer Shorts

Boxer shorts are one of the main hits of this summer. They are comfortable, stylish, and in hot weather they will be much more comfortable than jeans or suits. It is better to combine boxers with a simple and fairly formal top (we talked about the best options here) so that the image turns out harmonious and suitable for the city.

Peasant Style Shirts

The perfect summer shirt in a “peasant” style is necessarily made of linen or thin cotton. These materials not only look “expensive”, but also allow you to feel comfortable in hot weather. You can wear such a shirt always, everywhere and in all cases. It will perfectly complement a pair of shorts, skirts of all lengths and styles or linen trousers. It will come in handy in the office, and during a walk around the city, and on a date, and even on vacation.

Lace

Lace items are a great way to add a touch of seductiveness to any look, and this thin material will make you feel as comfortable as possible on hot summer evenings. The simplest option is a dress with lace trim. This can be a classic silk slip, complemented by lace inserts in the neckline and at the hem. However, you shouldn't write off a variety of tops and blouses: they will come in handy on a hot day no less.

Sarong Skirt

Another wardrobe item that has left the beach wardrobe and stepped into everyday life is the sarong skirt. It is named after the sarong, a traditional garment of the peoples of Southeast Asia, which is a piece of bright fabric that is tied at the hips like a long skirt. For a long time, such pieces of fabric were usually worn on the beach with swimsuits, but later designers began making wrap-around and draped skirts stylized as them. This summer, such skirts are even more appropriate in the urban jungle than on the seaside.

Slip Maxi White Dress

Slip dresses have long ceased to be called “nightgowns”. They combine comfort, sexuality and lightness. The open shoulder line makes the image piquant, and the midi or maxi length balances the outfit and allows you to wear it at least to a business meeting, at least on a date in a restaurant. Such dresses sit loosely and do not restrict movement, which is especially important in hot weather. By the way, this season, solutions with lace on the neckline are again relevant. If you have already missed them, you can safely wear them!

Free Mini Dress

The mini dress has one problem that it seems too revealing. But if you add a romantic floral print, the situation begins to change. And if you refuse tight styles and take a closer look at the current silhouette from the chest with lantern sleeves, you will feel comfortable in such a dress even during rush hour on the subway. The ideal solution would be a short dress in a pastoral style: the romantic mood will definitely not allow the product to look vulgar.

Set of Shirt and Shorts

Who said that a shirt has to be hot? Oversized pieces to disprove this statement. They allow the body to breathe and balance out the short length of the bottom. Just remember that it is important to style such models correctly. It is important to choose natural fabrics in the heat. For example, cotton or linen. It is best to choose a single-color set, which can be complemented with bright shoes. Our choice is quilted sandals or a pair of bright fabric sneakers.

Ribbed T-shirt

You don't have to worry about telltale armpit stains if you wear an open T-shirt in the heat. It will be a great addition to denim shorts or plain Bermudas. This season, discreet ribbed models with American armholes are especially relevant. But be careful: this cut reveals your arms and shoulders, so don't forget about sun protection.

Bright Mini with a White Shirt

Another trick that allows you to make a short length comfortable is to simply swap the accents. Add an oversize on top, for example, a voluminous translucent white shirt. And put on your favorite colorful mini-skirt underneath. You can try single-color options and match them with bright stilettos, or you can accentuate the fabric with a print or decorative details. This look is perfect for hot weather.

Choosing the Right Shoes

Shoes should be comfortable and stylish. Sandals, flip-flops or sneakers are all possible options. Don't rule out bright colors or interesting details.

Even rubber flip-flops have long ceased to be exclusively beach ones: they are worn not only in the city, but also on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival. However, if you are more conservative, we recommend replacing them with a leather model. Such flip-flops are in no way inferior (and rather even superior) to rubber ones in terms of comfort, but at the same time they look great with classic trousers and dresses. An absolute must-have for hot weather.

Flawless Makeup for Hot Days

Makeup can be a real challenge in the heat. Perhaps you shouldn't apply foundation in layers. Have you noticed how everything runs under the sun? It's better to choose light textures! A foundation with a weightless coverage or just a moisturizer will be ideal.

Blush. Be friends with creamy textures! Light shades look great in summer. Apply a little gloss to your lips.

A simple basic T-shirt, light makeup - and you are a real model in the sun! Want to emphasize your eyes? Use waterproof makeup. But remember - the main thing is that you feel confident!
